Honda Jazz Si Dressed to Impress Overseas

It may be called the Honda Fit here in the US; a both efficient and modest hatchback. However, overseas it's known as the Jazz, quickly earning a rep as a fierce and nimble driving machine. How can Bel Air Honda possibly be talking about the same vehicle? Simple. Honda has recently revealed an all-new Si trim of the Fit/Jazz to the public.

If you're familiar with the Si styling and Honda, you…

Charging the Honda Fit EV the Smart Way

Sooner than later, there could be millions of electric cars drawing electricity from the grid, something we atBel Air Honda are happy for, though many electrical companies might be fearing thsi. Why? To put it simply, that many cars plugged in at the same time could stress out the power grid, leading to brown outs across the country during peak usage hours.

You may think this'll stunt the growth of electric vehicles in the US. But it's also a problem that Honda has foreseen as well. And they're not quite ready to let it stand in the way of creating some of the economically and environmentally efficient vehicles in the world today.

So what's their solution? Honda is planning to pilot a new technology that promises to make electric vehicle charging more efficient in nature by receiving charging instructions from the grid, limiting its charging potential during peak power usage times, and by transmitting usage data that could improve grid management at a local level.

If it all sounds like a pretty tall order, that's because it is. In fact, this project is so expansive that Honda knows it can't possibly bring it to fruition alone. That's why the Big H is enlisting the help of both IBM and PG&E in piloting the new technology in a prototype of the 2013 Honda Fit EV.

Bel Air Honda, located at 1800 Belair Rd in Fallston, MD, hopes that this new technology helps to helps to ease the concerns that some buyers may have over considering an EV. And to see this technology first in the Honda Fit EV, be sure to stay tuned for more information on it.

Honda and safety are almost synonymous and the automaker has a pretty good relationship  with the likes of the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety and National Highway Traffic Safety Administration across all segments. What's more, the Honda Odyssey is the only minivan on the road today to earn an 5-Star Overall Vehicle Score from the United States government's NCAP program.

In other words, Honda is always looking to up their safety game. They…

The very same Honda Fit hatchback you can test drive from Bel Air Honda - in Fallston, MD is winning countless rally championships in Australia. Despite the terrible weather, the Honda Jazz vehicles helped this team…

2012 Honda CR-V Concept Debuts At SoCal Auto Show

Getting a jump on jazzing up interest in the redesigned fourth-generation 2012 Honda CR-V compact crossover SUV, Honda used the Orange County International Auto Show in Anaheim, California as a venue for the world debut of the 2012 Honda CR-V concept.

The Japanese automaker says the 2012 CR-V Concept has styling cues and features that point strongly to the production model which makes its debut at the 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show in November and will be on sale by the end of this year.

What???s new about the all-new CR-V? We can only guess, based on the 2012 CR-V Concept, since Honda is being mum about any more specifics.

The biggest change that we can see now is that the CR-V Concept appears a bit more aggressive, while still maintaining the attractive good looks that have made the CR-V the best-selling SUV in America since 2007 (on a calendar year basis)

Yes, the CR-V Concept does have dramatic styling cues and we can only hope that some of that flair makes it into the final production model. Honda says the goal for the new 2012 CR-V was to maintain the exterior size while giving it a sleeker appearance.

tail lights will remain for 2012, although the rearlights will be more three-dimensional and extend further into the vehicle???s design.

Just looking at the CR-V Concept, with its deeply sculpted character lines, beefy rocker panels, distinctively bold front end with horizontal three-bar grille and large five-spoke alloy wheels, Honda has achieved that goal. Honda says the faux front skid plate and vertical design.

Other goodies to come

Honda says the production 2012 CR-V will feature an all-new interior, a more fuel-efficient engine, and a trimmed-down body weight.

We???ll just have to wait for the 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show to find out more details, and we???ll be all over that story. In the meantime, if you???re in the area, check out the 2012 CR-V Concept at the Orange County International Auto Show in Anaheim, September 22-25.

When you buy an SUV or a crossover to transport your family, friends and assorted paraphernalia and cargo for various lifestyle pursuits, you want to be sure that it won???t roll backwards on a sloping incline. You also want to feel confident about being able to start it up without having to keep one foot jammed on the brakes and one on the gas pedal. If you have hill-start assist on your SUV or crossover, that won???t be a concern. Here we take a look at some 2012 family SUVs and crossovers that do have the feature. And the good news is that it???s standard on the ones we???ve selected

2012 Honda Pilot

The redesigned 2012 Honda Pilot eight-passenger mid-size SUV features hill-start assist as standard equipment on all models. When stopped on a steep grade, hill-start assist prevents the Pilot from rolling forward or backward. Activated by sensors when the driver???s foot moves from the brake pedal to the accelerator, hill-start assist maintains brake-line pressure for a brief moment while the brake pedal is released, giving the driver time to push on the accelerator and resume motion.

2012 Honda CR-V First Glance

As is the case with any unveiling, we were excited to see what changes Honda has in store for 2012 CR-V...We were also a little nervous. For we  love the third best-selling Honda vehicle just as it is.

The 2012 CR-V concept introduced to the market in late July features understated exterior changes, including more defined sculpting, fender flares, a horizontal three-bar grille, and five-spoke alloy wheels. Nothing too drastic - thankfully. And, while Honda didn't release any pictures of the interior; they do promise it'll gain greater comfort and a lower cargo floor.
